Kaysville-Fruit Heights Museum
of History & Art

Preserving Our Past for the Benefit of Future Generations

The Kaysville - Fruit Heights Museum of History and Art
aspires to create understanding and unity in both children and adults of community by:
  • Preserving the past, including significant historical documents, art, and artifacts.
  • Inspiring the future through engaging exhibits and programs.
  • Sparking problem solving creativity by creating space in the community to learn and share ideas in all mediums.

                                                                              Our Vision
The Kaysville - Fruit Heights Museum of History and Art embraces technology to create dynamic programming and a unique atmosphere. We focus the uncommon talents of dedicated citizens in service to prepare the upcoming generations with knowledge to improve their own lives and communities.

                                                                           We believe:
That a celebration of history has power to ignite the imagination and positively impact the future of the community and its citizens.

That story has the power to convey the critical historical and cultural memory needed to move forward as a society.

                                                                        We believe:
  • In being fiscally responsible and transparent.
  • In partnering with other organizations to create the best experiences for our patrons.
  • In being open and responsive to issues in the community.
  • In partnering with educators to enhance learning opportunities for students in the community.

Why is a history and art museum relevant?
Picture
We believe that communities can be connected and strengthened through our past, present, and future.

The museum will focus on how people experience and live in Kaysville and Fruit Heights.  A museum will help us to understand the meaning Kaysville and Fruit Heights life over the years.  In collecting photographs, artifacts, and art, (such as literature, history, art, and thought) a museum can connect us to ourselves and each other in deeply meaningful ways. In fact, if you are a descendant of an settler, longtime resident, one time resident, or have just made Kaysville or Fruit Heights your home, you are part of Kaysville and Fruit Heights' history.

Our Mission
First and foremost our goal is to have a museum space.  We feel we have found that space in the Old Rock Building, which was previously the Kaysville Library.

We are working with Kaysville City toward preserving and restoring the Old Rock Building  to become the home of the Kaysville-Fruit Heights Museum of History and Art.
