The Rock Loft

2019 is the 75th Anniversary of the building of the Rock Loft in Fruit Heights. It was constructed by Lee Jost as a cherry processing plant, but has had many uses over the years. Members of the local fruit growers association benefited by the ability to bring their picked cherries to weighed and then either put in brining vats to be made into maraschino cherries or fresh packed and shipped all over the country. Many youth of the area helped local orchardists pick the fruit while the ladies of the community worked in the processing plant. For all of its years of existence, the Rock Loft has been of economic benefit to the area, and residents are grateful it was recently preserved and renovated! The KFA Museum has undertaken a project to document the history of the Rock Loft for the current owners.
