KAYSVILLE KINKS - #83 IN SERIES - NOV 1897
  • About a dozen of Kaysville's aspiring Nimrods (skillful hunters) expect to spend the day out on the sand ridge (area now Clearfield) exterminating jack rabbits.
  • Alphous Nance and Miss Minnie Nichols were married last week.
  • Protect yourselves from tooth, ear, head and other aches by keeping your feet dry and they can be kept dry by going to H. J. Sheffield's store and buying some good rubbers or overshoes.
  • The Kaysville Co-op weighing scales are being moved out into the street from between the coal house and the granary.
  • The Kaysville Music & Dramatic Co. are putting in an expensive floor of birds eye maple in the Music Hall, which is to be completed before Thanksgiving. A new piano is also to be one of the new appurtenances (items) of the hall.
  • Frank Williams and Miss Effie Udy were married on Wednesday and gave a dance at Williams Hall.
  • H. E. Lewis the photographer, is erecting a frame photography gallery 20X32 feet on the north west corner of the Lewis Lot. (area Lewis Ice Cream Parlor SE corner Main & 100 N) Jas Kilfoyle is doing the carpentry work.
  • PHOTO: Horace Edward Lewis (1872-1950) "Kaysville's Traveling Portrait Photographer". He has an interesting story which will be told later in more detail. Courtesy Ancestry

On August 1, 2018 Kristine decided to begin a series of excerpts from the newspaper called These excerpts were taken from articles about local happenings/gossip/announcements etc. It tells a story and gives a feel for Kaysville back in the day.
Kaysville Kinks were originally published on the the Facebook group page, Our Kaysville Story.  Click on the link to join the group page.

Kristine is an amazing lady who loves the town she grew up in, her family, and the color purple.
