KAYSVILLE KINKS - #80 IN SERIES - AUGUST 1897
  • The infant son of Francis Nalder , whom the Doctor's said was tongue tied, was brought to Kaysville for an operation. If it had been a girl this operation would not have been so necessary, but a man needs to have his tongue in the best of trim to hold his own with the fairer sex.
  • James Larkins left for Chicago on Saturday
  • The window frames on the 1st story of John Gailey's new house are nearly all in position.
  • Quite a number of prospectors are at work up in Bair's Canyon. The number is divided into 2 camps Kelly, an Ogden Real Estate man and Palon, a UP conductor are among the number interested in the prospects.
  • G. F. Patillo is just getting so he can go about his work again. Some 3 weeks ago he cut his left hand quite badly on a wire fence. He was straddle of a bike when he did it. Mr. Patillo's new $75 Wasatch Bicycle is now up for sale. $35 spot cash.
  • Bishop and Barker who got the contract to furnish the brick for the new schoolhouses have delivered nearly all of them. The rockwork on the foundation of some of the schools is nearly completed.
  • There will be a Grand Dance at Williams Hall on Saturday evening; ice cream and cake served free; Tickets 50 cents.

    Kristine Murdock

On August 1, 2018 Kristine decided to begin a series of excerpts from the newspaper called These excerpts were taken from articles about local happenings/gossip/announcements etc. It tells a story and gives a feel for Kaysville back in the day.
Kaysville Kinks were originally published on the the Facebook group page, Our Kaysville Story.  Click on the link to join the group page.

Kristine is an amazing lady who loves the town she grew up in, her family, and the color purple.
