- Registered voters of the Peoples Party should not forget their duty next Monday.

------ Another refreshing shower fell last night. The weather since the late storms has been delightful.

------ The tramp nuisance is again becoming almost unbearable. Our city officers appear very negligent in regard to having these "cross-tie pilgrim's" arrested. Why are not our city laws enforced?

------ The city officials are taking steps to have the streets and sidewalks (dirt back then) cleared of such obstructions as weeds, grass, branches, etc. This will give the town a more business like appearance.

------ A visit to the yards of the Kaysville Brick and Tile Manufacturing Company shows that although the company is in it's infancy, it is making rapid strides toward the grand success which it was organized for some six months ago. Wages have advanced from $1.50 to $2.00 per day. The company is making bricks that are second to none made in the territory, we doubt if better can be found in the United States.

------ Some time during last Sunday night burglars entered William Bone's shoe shop and made away with 5 pairs of shoes. No clue.

PHOTO: William Henry Bone home. 161 N Main. His shoe shop was on the SE corner of his property. This was also the Kaysville Post Office in 1869, he was Postmaster. In later years, home was Major's Bakery, Longhorn Lounge, Art Studio etc., -- torn down - is now the area between Bountiful Bicycle Shop and Orlando's Restaurant.

On August 1, 2018 Kristine decided to begin a series of excerpts from the newspaper called These excerpts were taken from articles about local happenings/gossip/announcements etc. It tells a story and gives a feel for Kaysville back in the day.
Kaysville Kinks were originally published on the the Facebook group page, Our Kaysville Story.  Click on the link to join the group page.

Kristine is an amazing lady who loves the town she grew up in, her family, and the color purple.
