  • A remarkable woman passed from earth. She was Mary Kay wife of William Kay. She and her husband reached Kaysville in 1850 and Kaysville was named in honor of Mr. Kay. They remained in Kaysville for 6 years when her husband was called on a mission to Carson, Nevada. On their return to Utah in 1857 they settled in Ogden. Mrs. Kay was the mother of 9 children. In her character were blended elements of strength and beauty.
  • Last night's storm was the most furious Kaysville has experienced since November 2, 1855. It swept down from the mountains on the East with relentless fury, carrying with it everything movable.
  • John S. Hyde is clerking in Sheffield's store during the absence of Fred Sheffield who has gone to Chicago with Mr. Larkins with a train load of sheep.

On August 1, 2018 Kristine decided to begin a series of excerpts from the newspaper called These excerpts were taken from articles about local happenings/gossip/announcements etc. It tells a story and gives a feel for Kaysville back in the day.
Kaysville Kinks were originally published on the the Facebook group page, Our Kaysville Story.  Click on the link to join the group page.

Kristine is an amazing lady who loves the town she grew up in, her family, and the color purple.
