KAYSVILLE KINKS - #66 IN SERIES - JUNE 1896
  • Miss Annie Bone of Kaysville will be the Davis County Queen and the Maid of Honor to the State Queen.
  • A series of bold and unsuccessful burglaries were perpetrated during the still watches of night. When they finished their nocturnal labors 3 Kaysville establishments had been broken into. Swan & Co. Saloon was first. The bartender had closed up and gone home, but that didn't swerve the fellows from their course. They simply went in and helped themselves to the whiskey. Then they called on Proudfoot Barber Shop. There they gathered up a few razors. Next at the Union Station, they forced the door open. There they blew the iron door off the safe with explosives. The safe contained only books and papers and in disgust they threw their tools and the debris in the grass near the tracks and fled.
  • Miss Minnie Allen is very sick with neuralgia. (A severe pain due to an irritated or damaged nerve)
  • Miss Minnie A. Barnes and Mr. Henry H. Blood, prominent young people of Kaysville were married at the Salt Lake Temple Thursday (June 4) and in the evening a large reception was given at the home of the brides parents Mr. and Mrs. John R. Barnes.

On August 1, 2018 Kristine decided to begin a series of excerpts from the newspaper called These excerpts were taken from articles about local happenings/gossip/announcements etc. It tells a story and gives a feel for Kaysville back in the day.
Kaysville Kinks were originally published on the the Facebook group page, Our Kaysville Story.  Click on the link to join the group page.

Kristine is an amazing lady who loves the town she grew up in, her family, and the color purple.
