KAYSVILLE KINKS -#86 - FEBRUARY 1898
  • This afternoon about 175 children who are members of the local Primary Association were treated to a sleigh party. They were in charge of the president Mrs. Jane. W. Blood and her assistant Mrs. Peter Barton, and they were a joyous, happy faced company.
  • Funeral services were held this morning over the remains of Lorene Lindsay 8 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Lindsay. She had been taken to St. Marks Hospital for removal of an internal abscess.
  • Miss Mary Bosworth and James S. Harvey, both well known young people of Kaysville, are another couple who's career of wedded bliss will date from last Wednesday. The ceremony which made them one was performed in the Salt Lake Temple.
  • J. W. and Heber Burton expect to leave for the Klondike, Alaska tomorrow.
  • Horace Lewis has been doing a good business taking photographs since he opened up his gallery 2 weeks ago.
  • Miss Mary Ann Hyde has been added to the corps of teachers in the 2nd intermediate department of the Sunday School.
  • About a half dozen horseman gave a full grown deer a hot chase a few days ago in the fields in the lower part of town, but failed to capture it. The animal took note of barbed wire fences and would run right thru them.
  • Leon the 9 year old son of George Green had one of his legs badly fractured by a sand bank caving off and falling against it.
  • H.James Sheffield has purchased William Sheffield's home.

On August 1, 2018 Kristine decided to begin a series of excerpts from the newspaper called These excerpts were taken from articles about local happenings/gossip/announcements etc. It tells a story and gives a feel for Kaysville back in the day.
Kaysville Kinks were originally published on the the Facebook group page, Our Kaysville Story.  Click on the link to join the group page.

Kristine is an amazing lady who loves the town she grew up in, her family, and the color purple.
